Half Up Fishtail Braid

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

HOW TO: HALF UP FISHTAIL BRAID:

  1. Start by applying your ZALA clip in hair extensions. For this half up fishtail braid, we've used a 24 inch Quadweft 9 piece set! A set of ZALA's totally make the look and gives you all the hair you need for an elegant fishtail braid.
  2. Once your set has been applied, take two even sections from the front of your hair. Twist slightly before tying together at the back of your head with an elastic to form one section of hair.
  3. Thread this section over itself and through to create this pretty twisted effect.fishtail1
  4. Next, take a medium sized section of hair underneath the smaller section. This will add all the volume to your fishtail braid.
  5. Time to get braiding! Split the hair into two equal sections. To create the fishtail effect, take small sections from either side and bring into the middle. Repeat a quarter of the way down the hair and secure with a hair tie.
  6. Apply a cute metal hair accessory to cover the elastic. If you're not using hair rings like we are, you can simply take a small section of hair and wrap around to conceal the elastic.
  7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 until you have braided another quarter of the hair. We've left the look here, but you can repeat these steps for a super long braid!fishtail2
  8. Finish the style by pulling the hair to loosen your braid and add extra volume! We LOVE this half up fishtail braid with straight hair, however you can always go in with your ZALA Comso Wand to add some curls to your locks.
