Blending Clip-in Hair Extensions ft. Brittni Geeves

Hair extensions look absolutely wonderful – especially when they're blended correctly with your hair.

Extensions that aren't blended well look super off and just simply out of place. Nobody wants that of course, so it's important to learn how to do it yourself before showing off your new voluminous locks to the world.

Interested in blending clip-in hair extensions with your hair naturally? Here's a quick and easy-to-follow tutorial from one of our ZALA influencers, Brittni Geeves!

How To Blend Clip In Hair Extensions

Blending clip-in hair extensions doesn't have to be a struggle. With this tutorial, you'll be able to blend your clip-ins like a pro!

What you need:

Step-by-step Tutorial

  1. If you're planning to curl your hair extensions, Brittni suggests that you curl the extensions first before adding them to your hair. Start off by curling the extensions the night before you need to use them – this allows the hair to hold the curls better, thus making it look more natural once you finally add the extensions to your head.
  2. When you're ready to clip the hair extensions in, start by sectioning off your hair from behind your ears and using a hair clamp to hold the section up.
  3. You can spray the roots with some hairspray before back-combing the lower section. You should do it this way instead of the regular front-comb if you want to attach the hair extensions upside down. Attaching the extensions upside down allows you to hide the short, stubby parts of your hair underneath.
  4. When you're done clipping in the first set, bring your hair to the front.
  5. Go ahead and take half of the section that you clamped on top of your head. Attach the next set of extensions to this new half. You can also attach two sets here, one on top of the other, just like Brittni did.
  6. Once again, take half of the clamped section and clip the next set there. Make sure to back-comb this area before attaching!
  7. Now, take 1/4 of the remaining clamped section to attach the last four sets at either side of your head. Remember to leave that section thick enough to cover the extensions!
  8. Once all the sets are in, brush them all together to make sure that everything is blended seamlessly.

And that's it! You can now style your longer, more voluminous hair in any way you want it.

You know what they say: practice makes perfect! Nobody on this Earth was born knowing how to do this naturally, so just try to practice whenever you can and you'll be a pro at this in no time at all!
